We came here for an occasion because my parents tried their outlet at Yishun and loved it. My mum is a huge fan of tempura and that is I think 1 of 2 Japanese foods she actually eats.
The restaurant itself was quite small and there was a long queue but I think we waited for maybe 20 minutes? The food was served relatively fast because I think it is mostly similar dishes in the menu and due to the high turnover rate, the food was very fresh and delectable.
I ordered the standard spicy set and it was served with chawanmushi, miso soup and free-flow of 2 types of pickles. The pickles were superb! The soup was on point and the chawanmushi had the perfect consistency without the eggy smell. For $15, I felt that it was really really really well worth the money and it was actually too huge a serving for me. So do come here with an empty stomach if you are a small eater and enjoy this amazing Tendon.
My mum actually commented that she preferred this outlet at Plaza Singapura as compared to the outlet she visited in Yishun. My guess is the turnover rate at Yishun might have been slower than Plaza Singapura or maybe the cook there is just not as good.
I have visited this place again within the same month and I am sure to visit again in the very near future. Just hope the standard stays up there together with the really affordable price.
