We came here to celebrate Cass’ birthday and I have to start of by saying it was an amazing experience from start to end. The restaurant itself was situated above another restaurant and had quite a hidden entrance. The ambiance inside was awesome! Classy, clean, modern and tasteful.
We ordered the Iberico pork chee cheong fun, pork belly and peri peri chicken.
The chee cheong fun was definitely different, but I kind of expected pieces of pork instead of a paste-like char siew, but still,it was a different experience which was delightful.
The pork belly was so amazing! The pork, the apple sauce, the condiments, everything blended in perfectly and I only hated the fact that it was so small. I WANT TEN PLATES OF THIS NOW!
The peri peri chicken was cooked to ultimate perfection. You could smell the light ‘charredness’ and the chicken was oozing with juices. The slight burnt edges were extremely crispy and not disgusting at all. Chicken dishes are easily destroyed by being over-cooked and I have to say this was spot on!
The chocolate merlot cake was rich and tasty but I was not expecting the mousse to be so dense. I was actually expecting something really light that would be enhanced by the rich chocolate but it was still an enjoyable dessert.
What I totally forgot was the fact that I wrote in the comments that it was Cass’ birthday, so when they brought out a cake with a candle for her, I was surprised and pleased at the same time because they actually remembered! We were very happy with the overall meal and time spent there and would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone celebrating big or small events.
