B-story cafe @ Bangkok

01.30.2019 by lepetitbaker // Leave a Comment

The main reason for the visit to this cafe was the eccentric, alice-in-wonderland style decor which was quite captivating for us. Like how I usually describe, it was a beautiful chaos.

This is quite a small cafe but there are 2 levels and I felt the service was quite brisk. The staff are very approachable and attend to requests fast.

We ordered a pork chop, apple and kiwi soda, watermelon smoothie and fried calamari. Everything was served fast in their own mismatched colours and cutlery, which we thought was cute. The pork chop was of a good thickness and cooked to juicy wellness. The fried calamari was not crispy and quite chewy so that was not as good. The drinks were definitely refreshing and I do not think they could go wrong with it.

Overall, I felt the menu was lacking anything special. It was just an eccentrically designed cafe with simple western and thai style food. I would only come here if I was nearby and did not know where else to eat.

Pancake Cafe @ Bangkok

01.17.2019 by lepetitbaker // Leave a Comment

Yes, I know I said I love donuts; but who can say no to amazing souffle pancakes. For the record, I hate souffle, but souffle pancakes, TAKE MY MONEY!

I have tried a few famous souffle pancakes in Singapore, and also 1 in Japan. I can touch my heart and tell you, none of them was as good as what I had from Pancake Cafe in Bangkok!

The wait to get seated was long, but we decided to wait patiently because it was right after dinner time and it was understandable that many people were looking to satisfy their sweet temptations.

There was a number of different pancakes they made and Cass was attracted to this INDULGENT pancake and I was up for it. All I wanted was good pancakes. Naturally, when it arrived, it was nice and warm due to the high turnover rate and it looked so decadent!

When I bit into a piece of it, I was blown away. The sweetness, the texture, the fluffiness, the overall beauty was this dessert was just out of this world. I loved it so much and wanted another but you know, CALORIES.

Next time you are at Central World Bangkok, try this and I assure you, you will have no regrets.

Roast @ bangkok

01.16.2019 by lepetitbaker // Leave a Comment

Roast is one of the most popular cafes in Bangkok and I remember attempting to come here the first time. We took the train to the nearest possible station and started walking. It was supposed to be relatively near but I swear we walked for almost 30 minutes! Once we reached, we found out it was closed due to renovations…

Oh well, fast forward a year or 2 later and they opened up an outlet at EmQuartier, which is really close to the train station. The decor of this restaurant is really cool and minimalist. The selection of food is extensive and the staff are also very attentive, as expected of Thai hospitality.

The food is mainly western and I was actually kind of bored because it felt like all the cafes and restaurants seemed to be serving the same type of food but it was undoubtedly delicious. The presentation was just like what was shown in the ever classy menu and the taste was definitely on point.

Overall, I feel this is a great restaurant to bring a date and to just chill with friends and family.
