Prachak roasted duck @ bangkok

01.15.2019 by lepetitbaker // Leave a Comment

This place is quite a distance from the Pratunam area but is walking distance from the nearest train station. We visited on a weekday morning and it was a really crowded train ride for a short distance due to office workers.

It is a relatively small shop but they had an English menu and service was brisk. We had a mix roasted meats dish which came with a few different types of meat, namely, crispy pork, char siew, duck, chinese sausage and 1 more meat item which I couldn’t make out. This cost 140 baht. We also had egg noodles with crab meat at 55 baht and pork wantons with crispy pork for 50 baht.

The food was tasty but some of the meats felt a little hard to chew. Overall, it was cheap and good so do drop by if you are near to try as well.

White flower factory @ Siam Square One, bangkok

12.27.2018 by lepetitbaker // Leave a Comment

Every time I visit Bangkok, White Flower Factory located at Siam Square One is a must visit for me because of their Thai Tea Crepe Cake. I fell in love with their cake since the very first time I tried it and until today, I think I have tried it at least 5 times over a few years and I still love it!

The restaurant itself is conveniently located beside a train station and a very short walk away. My observation is that this restaurant is constantly crowded with locals and tourists almost all the time. The staff are very friendly and attentive to customer’s requests as well. The ambiance is definitely very pleasant and clean and the area simply makes you want to sit, chill and relax while watching the trains move by.

They do have a good variety of food and I have tried both their sweet and savoury selections. I can confidently say that the food is of great quality and the prices are really reasonable for a restaurant located in town.

On lok yun @ bangkok

09.04.2018 by lepetitbaker // Leave a Comment

I think I have visited this place about 3 times and it is my favourite place for a simple breakfast in Bangkok. They are open really early and usually quite a distance away from where I am used to staying in Bangkok but I think the cab fare is worth the experience and the food.

One thing you will realise is that there are so many locals eating here. It is definitely slightly rundown but still oozes with old-school charm, yet it is clean and comfortable.

I especially love their Kaya which is basically a coconut jam. It is creamy and smooth and it tastes different from the kaya we have in Singapore. I am a huge fan of kaya and I absolutely love theirs. The only issue about bringing it home is that they said it lasts for 2 to 3 days only because no preservatives are added.

They have an English menu and it is easy to communicate with them. The service is very fast and the food tastes good too. Price is surely affordable and eating like a local is something I love experiencing in various countries.

So wake up early, take a cab or walk from the nearest train station to this shop and eat like a local as well; you will love it.
