Having lived in Kovan for some time, I realised there was this German food stall beside a famous Thai food stall. I always like a good pork knuckle and when I wasn’t sure what to eat one day, I remembered this stall and decided to try it.
Just so you know, the pork knuckles cost only $10! Of course it is not a full knuckle; its a portion but still, I found this a very affordable price. We ordered a portion of knuckle and schnitzel. I found the knuckle to be just alright because the skin was crispy only on certain parts and on other parts it was really hard. Same goes to the meat itself; it was tender on certain parts but hard on other parts. I am guessing maybe it might have been re-fried or microwaved but still for this price, I think it was worth the try. The schnitzel however was too dry. I feel it was a tad over-fried so it wasn’t as juicy as it should have been.
Overall, I found the service staff a little cold and the food was just acceptable. Maybe with a more cheerful and friendlier service environment, it might have made the experience better. Food wise, of course I think there could be improvements to the processes they have to serve quality food at good time as well.
