Lao Zhong Zhong Fine Spice Stall @ Macpherson

08.13.2018 by lepetitbaker // Leave a Comment

All my life, I have only had Indian Rojak and the Chinese Rojak which has you tiao and dark sweet sauce in it. I have seen this form of Chinese Rojak called Ngoh Hiang many times but I never tried it because, I don’t know, no one introduced it to me I guess.

So when my friend asked me out to try this Ngoh Hiang from this stall, I was absolutely amazed. There is a good variety of choices and the prices are good and my favourite thing about this stall is that the service is fast and the food is always fresh and perfectly fried! When I say perfect, I mean perfect. It is golden brown, super crispy on the outside and remains how it should be in the inside. I think I have patronised them at least 10 times over 2 years and I am never disappointed. This is the type of consistency in quality I really appreciate. It makes me happy coming back when I crave for it because I do not have to worry if they will serve me a dish that is not up to standard. I just hope they do continue to cook using the best ingredients and sell a dish that they are proud of.

Since trying this Ngoh Hiang, I have moved on and tried a few other stalls in Singapore but not a single stall can match up to this stall. It is honestly the best I have had so far.
