Thai food is just something I crave very frequently and it is really saddening when I try Thai food in Singapore because it is always a mile away from the real stuff.
I have actually tried quite a number of popular haunts serving Thai food and they almost always disappoint me.
Pranakorn was just a surprise discovery. I go to Changi Village quite often just to chill with my buddies and to enjoy a huge variety of food from the hawker centre and I often see Pranakorn filled with people. So one day, we decided to give it a go and I have no doubts in saying that this is as close to the real thing as you can get in Singapore. (But if you do know one better, let me know)
One thing I did not like at all was the menu lay out, the ordering sheet and the fact that there were no prices stated on the ordering sheet. The list was quite extensive on the ordering sheet but it does not tally with the menu and the menu does not show pictures of all the food available on the ordering list. It would be nice to be able to see a photo of every single dish being sold. I didn’t like the fact that I wanted to order something and I could not find the cost of it anywhere in the menu or the ordering sheet as well. Hopefully these can be improved and it would be great.
The service staff are friendly and the food is served fresh, not pre-cooked. You can taste it. Just be patient and hopefully you enjoy the food as much as I did.
